With only a few spots remaining, for the Summer session, Explore, Invent, Discover, is a wonderful, preschool-based class for you and your little one to enjoy together! Starting Monday, July 10th, this class is a new kind of experience, with a twice-a-week class, offered for either 2 weeks or 4 weeks (you decide!). Explore, Invent, Discover is PERFECT for those little ones who will be starting preschool, for the first time, this coming fall.
Explore, Invent, Discover is on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 10 to 11:30 AM. Each class session begins with 45 minutes of self-guided exploration, followed by a snack, more exploration, and ends with a 15 minute circle time, which include poems, finger play, song, dance, and stories. The preschool teachers, Laura and Katie, have a wealth of experience in early elementary and preschool settings and are excited to share this with you and your young children.
Each week, you and your preschooler delve into a topic such as safari, seasons (Summer is the first theme of this session!), bugs, or construction, exploring each theme through art, music, dancing, books, and play. Play-based choices are a wonderful way to support your child’s love of learning, while building valuable, developmentally appropriate skills, and you get to be there too!
Explore, Invent, Discover will be held at the Preschool and Family Center (Boardwalk location, near Briarwood Mall). The large classroom space includes a sensory table (table content changes weekly, based on the week’s theme), play kitchen space, reading corner, art tables (two, DIFFERENT art projects offered each class period!), area for gross motor development (a classroom slide!), and table stations that change weekly and focus on literacy and fine motor skills (i.e. Playdoh, counting, stamps, letter/picture match, puzzles). Oftentimes, science experiments are incorporated into the weekly theme too!
You can register your little one, through Ann Arbor Rec and Ed by CLICKING HERE. Explore, Invent, Discover is for 2 1/2 to 5 year olds (although infants and babies that can be worn or simply sits up, are allowed, with the older sibling).
